Saudi food imports hit USD17.5 b


(MENAFN) Saudi imports of food and agricultural goods have reached USD17.5 billion comprising 15 percent of the Kingdom's total imports, Times of Oman reported. Saudi Arabia's agricultural imports are expected to grow 76 percent by the end of 2016. The Kingdom is investing USD12 billion in domestic food to absorb the growing local demand. Saudi Agriculture 2013, an exhibition to get agricultural products, services and the equipment for the region, is to be held in Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Centre on September 15-18.
