Egypt likely to pay $1.8b for wheat imports


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Egypt may have to pay $1.6 billion to $1.8 billion for wheat imports to supply its subidised baladi bread programne, the US Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service said. Egypt probably has enough wheat stockpiles to last through January after buying more than one million metric tonnes of the grain mostly from Ukraine and Romania since July 2, the FAS said in a report on the USDA website.
