Iran's aluminum output increases 7 percent


(MENAFN) Iran's aluminum output in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar started March 21 reached nearly 150,000 tons, Tehran Times reported. The county's three smelters, Iranian Aluminum Company (IRALCO), the Al-Mahdi Aluminum Corporation (AAC), and Hormozal, produced 149,307 tons of aluminum, registering a 7 percent increase compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year. Aluminum production by IRALCO reached 74,717 tons. Production by AAC reached 44,830 tons and by Hormozal 29,760 tons. The country produced 15 percent more alumina powder in the period hitting 104,896 tons.
