EU countries recovering after recession


(MENAFN) Central and eastern European countries showed resilience during the recession. Capital Economics said in its report for last month, "A number of equity markets in Emerging Europe " Poland's in particular " have proved relatively resilient during the recent emerging market sell-off." Economic growth in Poland was at a faster pace in the April-June period of this year. The economy in the country grew by 0.2 percent in the second quarter compared to the prior-year period and by 0.4 percent compared to the first three months of this year. The gross domestic product (GDP) in the Czech Republic grew by 0.7 percent in the second quarter exiting its 18-month recession.
