DIFC companies hit 979 adding 1,000 jobs


(MENAFN) The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) said that during this year's first half 979 registered companies were in its precinct increasing by 7 percent, The National reported. Around 1,000 new jobs were added to the centre in the period bringing the total to 15,000 people working DIFC. Occupancy in the DIFC offices in the central Gate district reached 97 percent up from 94 percent, while the retail space was 99 percent occupied, executive of the DIFC Authority, Jeff Singer, said. "The centre's unique infrastructure, internationally recognised legislative and regulatory framework and dynamic business environment have positioned DIFC to become a financial ecosystem," Singer said.
