Yemeni PM Demands Ministries to Adopt Austerity Policy


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Yemeni Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa demanded ministries and government organs in the state to review the level of spending and adopt austerity policy, taking into account the country's economic conditions at this stage. During an extraordinary meeting of the cabinet under his chairmanship, Basindwa said that the adoption of this policy has become a duty for the homeland safety, noting that the National Reconciliation Government has inherited a heavy legacy and economic burdens that require concerted efforts to overcome and resolve them as much as possible. Basindwa also stressed the importance of harmonizing between resources and expenditures, indicating that the President and members of the National Reconciliation Government should protect and preserve public money and work to promote the values of integrity and transparency.
