Dorra gas field project shelved

(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia and Kuwait decided to shelve their Dorra offshore gas field project due to a disagreement on how to divide the produced gas, The Peninsula reported. The plan at first was to bring the gas to an offshore facility and then pump it through two separate pipelines to each country. Later, Saudi Arabia began pressing to pump all the gas to a town on the Saudi border and then pipe Kuwait"s share overland. The original plan to pump the gas to a Kuwaiti beach also had issues as energy companies in the country were disputing over the land.
