UAE medicine sales increase


(MENAFN) Prices of medicine in UAE dropped 0.3 percent in July compared to the month before it, while companies report good sales and plan expansions, The National reported. Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries, Julphar, plans to build two new manufacturing plants. One plant will be in Jebel Ali to be completed this year and one in Abu Dhabi next year. "We are trying to relook at the portfolio and revitalise the organisation when it comes sales and marketing operations as well as manufacturing facilities," the company's director for the Arabian Gulf, Basel Abou Jalala, said. Overseas firms are also doing well in the UAE. Germany's Boehringer Ingelheimsaid UAE sales increased by 23.6 per cent in the first six months of this year.
