Pakistan's tax revenues hit 25 pct rise


(MENAFN) Pakistan's tax revenues increased about 25 percent since the beginning of the fiscal year, according to Gulf Daily News. Sales tax rose up to 17 percent reaching USD1.3 billion revenues since July, compared to 16 percent last year, said the Finance Ministry. A finance ministry official said: "In the first month of the fiscal year, which is in July, the increase ascribed to the new taxes would be roughly 10bn rupees. The rest can be ascribed to better assessments, plugging of leakages and better supervision and management."
