New Tiida to prop up Nissan sales


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Nissan Middle East on Wednesday announced the launch of all-new Nissan Tiida and predicted that the new model will help sales more than double in the region. The Japanese automaker expects the new Tiida will increase its market share to 60 per cent. The car will be available from next month with a starting price of Dh57,000 ($15,500) to Dh77,300 ($21,000) for high-end model. "The UAE and Lebanon are the top two markets in the region for Nissan Tiida and the company is targeting 9,000 units [in] annual sales," Nissan Middle East managing director Samir Cherfan told reporters at a news conference on Wednesday. Cherfan also talked about first-quarter sales globally and in the region: "Our fiscal year starts in April and during the first quarter, sales witnessed a double-digit growth with increased market share." Talking about target customers in the region for the Nissan Tiida, he said a majority of them are young men and females account for around 30 per cent. The new model is shaped to complement the lifestyle of the young at heart of customers throughout the region, Cherfan added. With dynamic styling looks, advanced technology and class-leading spaciousness, the completely-revised second generation of the Middle East's best-selling compact hatchback has everything to build on the Tiida nameplate's established success. With refreshed design and improved levels of standard technology, the all-new Nissan Tiida will not only appeal to existing customers but also attract a new range of Middle East buyers looking for a stylish and premium hatchback, according to Cherfan.
