Asian Stocks slid for fifth day

Asian stocks slid with Asian regional benchmark stock index for the fifth consecutive day to the lowest in six weeks, where stocks falls before releasing the minutes of the Federal Reserve’s July meeting.

Moreover, The MSCI Asia Pacific Index dropped 0.4 percent to 131.05.  Mobile gaming companies Gree Inc. and Dena Co. declined more than 6% in Tokyo as the Nikkei newspaper reported Sega Corp. is among 15 companies forming a marketing group to bypass mobile platforms. BHP Billiton Ltd. (BHP) sank 2.3% in Sydney after the world’s biggest mining company reported a drop in second-half profit amid slowing growth in emerging economies. Cnooc Ltd. (883) surged 4.1% in Hong Kong after China’s biggest offshore oil and gas explorer posted a better-than-estimated increase in first-half profit.
