The final phase of Dubai Shopping Malls Group (DSMG) 'The Millionaire Promotion' has already given away Dh2 million during Eid in Dubai, with shoppers automatically entered into the prize raffle after spending the Dh200 sum.
DSMG's chairman Majid Al Ghurair said: "The first two phases of our promotion this year has led to an exceptional increase in sales and footfall...we are expecting the final phase to exceed the evolving needs of the shoppers".
DSMG also made one Indian national's dreams come true after he won diamond and gold jewellery gift vouchers worth Dh50,000.
Devendran Arumugam, 44, was shopping in BurJuman mall for a new mobile when he entered yet another prize raffle - and for the first time ever, actually won.
Hailing from Madras, Arumugam said he was completely shocked when he heard of the win: "I assumed it was one of my friends joking with me, but once I knew it was for real, I was completely awestruck and at the same time elated with joy". He plans on investing the money for his children's education and will spend the remaining on his family he said, and maybe even a trip back home.
