UAE- 4 gamblers caught from Sharjah streets


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Sharjah Police have arrested four Asian nationals who were found illegally gambling on a street in the emirate. The Criminal Investigation Department of Sharjah Police arrested the four suspects, from Pakistan and Bangladesh, after they were found to be earning money by promoting gambling games at Al Ghuwair area in Sharjah. As soon as the police were tipped off about the illegal activity, a security team was formed to investigate the case and arrest the suspects red-handed. The suspects were ambushed by the police as they sat at a gambling table in the area and all four confessed to being engaged in the illegal activity after being interrogated by the officers. They said they did it to yield extra profit. The suspects are currently detained and will be referred to the Public Prosecution. Sharjah Police sent out a warning saying vigilant action will be taken against any violator found committing any kind of illegal activity, such as gambling.
