Australian ambassador says UAE is first trade partner


(MENAFN) The Australian ambassador to the UAE, Pablo Kang, announced that the UAE is the first trade partner to Australia in the Middle East and North Africa, and the world's 14th largest trade partner, according to Gulf News. Kang, said: "Australian-UAE trade is not as diversified as it should be. Our main exports to UAE are alumina which is used to produce aluminum, lamb, Chevrolet and Camry vehicles as well as other products. Our main imports are petrol." Nuclear and aviation were the most important sectors that supported the relationship between the government and the private sector, according to the ambassador. Kang said: "Our trade exchange is estimated at 5-6 billion Australian dollars yearly which includes petrol, lamb, vehicles, alumina, and other items."
