GM to recall 340,000 vehicles

(MENAFN) US General Motors (GM) is recalling a large number of its 2011-2012 Chevrolet Cruze. The 340,000 recalled cars have a possible brake-assist loss, Xinhua reported. The move includes recalling 292,879 and 44,789 cars from the US and Canada respectively. The problem only exists in Cruze cars assembled at the GM's Lordstown Assembly Plant in Ohio and the problem only exists in Cruzes with the 1.4 liter turbocharged engine and six-speed automatic transmission. It is worth mentioning that GM decided to pull 231,000 older SUVs due to fire risks in June.
