IBM aims to acquire Trusteer

(MENAFN) US IBM aims to acquire Trusteer, a software company that specialises in malware protection and enterprise endpoint defense, Saudi Gazetter reported. The tech giant is set to create a cybersecurity software lab allowing 200 researchers from Trusteer and IBM to work on mobile and application security, malware, financial crimes and counter-fraud. Trusteer's software has the ability to identify security threats undetected by traditional security software. This move marks the 14th acquisition by IBM in the security area. General Manager of IBM's security systems division, Brendan Hannigan, said: "Together with IBM's capabilities in advanced threat detection, analysis and remediation, we'll now be able to offer our clients several additional layers of defense against sophisticated attackers."
