Saudi- Students told not to submit fake documents
(MENAFN- Arab News) The Saudi cultural mission to the United States (SACM) has cautioned students on scholarship in the United States against submitting faked or forged documents, either to the cultural mission or universities or educational institutions.
The SACM said that it had detected fake, forged or inaccurate documents such as financial guarantees, academic transcripts, admission letters, letters of acceptance tests results in the past.
The directive, which was sent by e-mail to scholarship students in the United States and a copy of which was posted on the mission's Facebook page on Thursday, also warned students that such documents would risk a student's academic credentials and credibility.
The SACM said these documents are generally prepared by outside third-party student services offices for commercial gain. The mission did not specify from where the faked documents came or were sent.
The SACM said such attempts in effect violate Islamic traditions, as well as the host country's rules and regulations and the Ministry of Higher Education's regulations for scholarship.
"The cultural missions stressed it will apply scholarship rules and regulations on those who are found to have been submitting inaccurate documents of any nature," the statement said.
Attempts by Arab News to contact the Saudi Cultural Mission in Washington for comments failed.
