(MENAFN- Arab News) Police have arrested an Indian national after he was allegedly found to be circulating child pornography using an Internet file sharing programme, officials have said. The arrested man, identified as S.T.D., was using peer to peer (P2P) software to publish the pornographic images to other users, a police spokesman said. After police security apparatus detected the illegal activity, a team was immediately formed to investigate the matter and arrest he man. The police discovered that S.T.D. lived around the Muweileh area and after obtaining an authorisation form from the Public Prosecution, they raided his home, arrested him and confiscated the computer he was using in his crime. The police also found a huge number of files containing indecent images of children. The man confessed to his crime and has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
