(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The key of over 75 per cent of the 1,326 new government houses under Phase 3 of Al Falah Housing Project were handed over to the beneficiaries on Wednesday. The names of the new batch of beneficiaries were recently endorsed upon the directives by the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City started the handing-over process at 7am at the 25 designated counters. The processes included those of ownership and letters for electricity connection. Mobile services were also made available to help people with special needs to receive keys of their new residences and documents for electricity connection in places of their existence. Al Dar Real Estate allocated eight counters to hand over the internal keys and charts, and for registration for maintenance services. Abdullah Nasir Al Junaibi, Acting Director of Community Services Division at the municipality, said the civic body prepared procedures to implement the decree as soon as it was issued and it assigned a team in this regard to cooperate with Al Dar Real Estate and Abu Dhabi Distribution Company to receive beneficiaries to complete the required procedures. He said the wise leadership extended "generous hands to the sons of the nation and followed the footsteps of the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in upbringing a generation more connected to his land and more willing to contribute to supporting the development march". Al Junaibi added that the municipality staff would remain grateful to the UAE President and the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince for this gesture that was aimed at ensuring family stability and decent living for all citizens. On his part, Hussein Junaibi, Acting Director of Land and Property Department, said the department prepared, with immediate effect, upon issuance of the decree, files and certificates of the eligible people and electricity connection documents, and coordinated with Al Dar Real Estate to deliver schemes, keys and architectural plans, as well as lists of names and telephone numbers of maintenance companies. He said the counters were fully equipped to complete all procedures. Saif Saeed Al Mansouri, Director of Customer Service, said despite the large number of citizens on the first day itself, the work went on quietly and smoothly, thanks to the preparedness and arrangements made by the municipality to receive the eligible across 25 counter to save them the pain of waiting. The municipality has allocated, in collaboration with Mawaqif, free parking places for beneficiaries on Wednesdays and Thursdays on Shaikh Zayed Road near Gate No. 1. It also reached the beneficiaries with special needs at their places of residence to complete the procedures.
