(MENAFN- Arab News) The Saudi Red Crescent Authority reported that 419 people were injured in accidents during five days of Eid Al-Fitr festivities in the Eastern Province. There were 172 cases classified between hazardous and moderate, while 247 were identified as "simple" cases, according to a report issued by the Saudi Red Crescent. Barak Al-Muhareb, Red Crescent's acting spokesman, said the operation rooms of the Red Crescent received 419 reports of medical conditions, traffic and fire accidents. Red Crescent's ambulances provided their medical services to 247 simple cases. He said Red Crescent's ambulances transferred 390 medical cases. About 190 were heart patients. The Red Crescent treated 206 simple medical cases. Mobile teams have been involved in various locations in the Eastern province during the Eid calibrations. The Red Crescent asked Saudis and expats to provide correct information of location and medical data when directing ambulance teams to accident scenes. Bandar bin Nasser Al-Shehri, Saudi Red Crescent official in the Makkah region, said: "Our operation rooms in Jeddah recorded a number of traffic accidents in north and south Jeddah last Friday and Saturday that resulted in injuries to 15 people. The Red Crescent's ambulances transferred six people injured in a traffic accident in the south of Jeddah to King Abdul Aziz University Hospital. Two of them were airlifted to the hospital." He added: "There was also a traffic accident on Madinah Road that resulted in seven injuries. One of the injured is in a serious condition. Some of them were taken to King Fahd Hospital in Jeddah, while others were transferred to King Abdul Aziz Hospital by air ambulance." Accident reports from other provinces and regions were not available.
