GCC exports to Japan fall

(MENAFN) Gulf hydrocarbon producers' exports to Japan fell by 8 percent in the six months period ended June 30, Emirates 24/7 reported. Exports went down from USD81.64 billion in the first half of 2012 to USD74.83 billion in this year's first half. The decline came as a result of a slump in exports from all six countries in the GCC except Qatar. Saudi exports to Japan fell to USD24.42 billion from USD28.83 billion and exports from the UAE declined from USD22.63 billion to USD20.96 billion. Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) imports from Japan also fell after growing in a steady pace for the past several years.
