Kuwait- 'Mandoub' In Visa Trafficking
(MENAFN- Arab Times) Securitymen from the General Immigration Department have arrested an Egyptian for selling visas under the name of a leading trading company at a price range of KD 800 to KD 1,000. Security sources revealed the Egyptian, who works as a company representative, obtained visas by signing immigration documents on behalf of the owner of the company - a Kuwaiti - without the latter's knowledge.
The illegal trade was discovered when the officers caught six expatriates in the act of handing over payment for the visas to the suspect. The owner later went to the department and he was surprised to see names of persons he does not know registered under the company. Initial investigations revealed the Egyptian processed the applications and signed the documents on behalf of the owner without informing him. A case was registered and investigations are continuing to determine the actual number of expatriates registered under the company without the owner's knowledge.
