UAE- Air traffic movements up at over 63,000

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority, or GCAA, announced that air traffic movements in the UAE grew at a rate of 2.9 per cent in July compared to the same month last year. The GCAA's Air Traffic Monthly Report indicated that total air traffic movements in the month were 63,213 with an average of 2,039 air traffic movements per day. It also provided the number of air traffic movements in each UAE airport: Dubai ranked first with 29,074 traffic movements, with over-flights next at 12,322. Abu Dhabi ranked third with 10,064 air traffic movements. According to the report, air traffic movements in Sharjah International Airport ranked fourth with 5,365 movements. Local flights between UAE airports were in fifth position with 5,310 movements. Al Maktoum International Airport witnessed 507 movements, Fujairah International Airport had 84 movements, while Ras Al Khaimah International Airport posted 382 movements and Al Ain Airport had 105 movements.
