Dewa electricity peak load rises


(MENAFN) Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) recorded an extra 220MW in the peak load of electricity bringing it to 6,857MW to date up from 6,637MW last year registering a 3.3 percent increase, Emirates 24/7 reported. In the same period, demand on water rose from 285 million imperial gallons per day to 295.5 million imperial gallons per day. MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer said that this increase in peak load proves the social and economic rise in Dubai. "Led by its vision to become a sustainable world-class utility, Dewa is making a real contribution to Dubai"s social, economic and environmental development by securing uninterrupted and stable supplies of electricity and water to realise Dubai"s vision," Al Tayer added.
