UAE- 16th Wetex slated to be landmark event


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, or Dewa, under the umbrella of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, will organise the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition, or Werex, which will take place on April 14-16, 2014 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. This meets the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of Shaikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and President of the Dewa. The upcoming exhibition, billed to be the biggest to date, will occupy a space of 40,000sqm, covering six halls in addition to the Zabeel Hall, and is expected to attract over 1,500 exhibitors from 40 countries, underlining the strategic position of the exhibition to serve as an unmatched meeting ground with professionals from within the electricity, water, gas, oil, renewable energy and environment industries. The exhibition will also serve as a platform to stimulate dialogue on current issues in the region surrounding electricity and water technologies, solar power, nuclear energy, the rational consumption of electricity and water, protecting natural resources, and promoting sustainable development. "We are currently carrying out roadshows across the globe to increase awareness of Wetex 2014, while driving interest among potential participants. The exhibition will once again see participation from leading public organisations including ministries, government organisations, municipalities, as well as national and international companies and public interest organisations," said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and chief executive officer of the Dewa.
