Dubai Chamber launches new online set-up service

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday launched a new online business community for global companies looking to set-up business in the emirate. The main objective of the International Business Network, or IBN, initiative is to attract foreign businesses to Dubai and to promote the emirate in the overseas business arenas. The Dubai Chamber is the first organisation of its kind in the Middle East to offer international membership as part of the IBN. Benefits for members of the network include access to advice on establishing a company in Dubai, business matching opportunities with local partners, contract drafting services for new businesses, and discounted rates for the chamber's networking events and conferences. It is a unique and innovative product offering easy investment options for overseas businesses while opening up the doors of opportunities for its members in new markets of the world, Dubai Chamber director-general Hamad Buamim said in a statement. The IBN is an integral part of the Dubai Chamber's new business strategy, which seeks to expand its membership network globally while promoting Dubai as a lucrative business and investment destination, Buamim explained. The IBN also offers access to valuable research documents, including specialised country reports quarterly business outlook updates, credit rating services and economic studies that will enable global members with their decision to set up businesses in the emirate. "Dubai is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. It is a strategic and dynamic hub for global commerce with unparalleled infrastructure, low operational costs and an international outlook that makes it an attractive investment destination," the director-general said. "Now, through this online network we can showcase what Dubai has to offer to global investors as by becoming a member and through the payment of a nominal annual fee they can download all the relevant information and studies related to the investment environment of the emirate and can also obtain important details about the ease of doing business here," he added. The Dubai Chamber, in its latest survey, revealed that nearly 50 per cent of business leaders surveyed very optimistic about business conditions in the coming months in the emirate. Since existing companies are already bullish about the business conditions in the emirate, the new IBN initiative will attract more companies to establish business in Dubai. Last month, the Dubai Chamber announced that a total of 7,153 new members had joined, increassing the total members to over 145,000 by the end of June 2013.
