Air Arabia net profit jumps 17 percent


(MENAFN) UAE carrier, Air Arabia, stated that net profit for the company in the six months period ending June 30 registered a 17 percent jump hitting USD36.4 million versus USD31.3 million the same period last year, Saudi Gazette reported. In the second quarter, net profit increased by 15 percent up from USD18 million to USD20.7 million. The Sharjah-based carrier carried 3 million passengers in the first six months up by 16 percent from the same period last year when it served 2.6 million passengers. Chairman of Air Arabia Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al Thani said: "Air Arabia is pleased to announce strong and solid financial performance despite ongoing turmoil in parts of the region, which continues to impact the transport sector and the regional economic growth."
