Iran is set to import natural gas for Iraq

(MENAFN) Iraq's Electricity Minister Kareem Aftan has signed a closed-door deal with the Iranian Oil Minister Rostam Qasemi late Sunday in the Iraqi capital Baghdad to import natural gas from Iran, reported Dailystar. According to the agreement, Iran will provide Iraq with 750 million cubic feet of gas through installed pipelines into three power plants in Baghdad and Diyala districts. It's worth mentioning that the gas agreement contradicts with the U.S plans to cut off funding for Teharan's nuclear program.
