UAE- Man caught for stealing from cars

(MENAFN- Arab Times) The Ajman Police have recently nabbed a GCC national who specialises in robbing cars - leaving hundreds of dirhams worth of damage to the vehicle in the process. Director of the Criminal Investigation Department Lt-Colonel Abdullah Saif Al Matrooshi said the suspect was arrested when a police official patrolling the roads saw the suspect getting out of his car and running fast towards a parked 4WD, before returning to his own vehicle and driving off. The man's action aroused the officer's suspicions and upon approaching the 4WD, he noticed one of the windows had been smashed and various items were stolen from the car. "Before this incident, we had received other complaints from vehicle owners who found that the windows had been smashed and their belongings, placed inside the cars, were stolen using the same method." The official explained: "On arresting the suspect, it was found that he is a GCC national and he confessed to smashing the car windows to steal valuable items placed inside the cars. It was found out that he had a criminal background with seven cases filed against him." Based on the suspect's confession, he is currently being detained and will be referred to the Public Prosecution.
