Don't serve errant motorists, Ajman restaurants warned

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)  Ajman restaurants and commercial shops have been given orders not to serve customers who park their cars in a way that causes traffic jams or delays to other road users. Restaurants and shops found flouting the rules and serving errant motorists despite the new law will be slapped with a Dh1,000 fine for the first violation and Dh2,000 in the case of any repeat violations. Violating shops are subject to closure in addition to an increased fine in case the violation is repeated for the third time. The new administrative law, number 18 for the year, was issued by Ajman Municipality and Planning chairman Shaikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, to ban restaurants and commercial outlets from delivering orders to clients who park their cars in the middle of the road or in a way that impacts other road users and causes delays. The new law was applicable to all shops and restaurants operating in Ajman. Ajman Municipality director Yehia Ibrahim noted the new law came as part of the civic body's objectives in offering the best level of services to Ajman residents and to eradicate any negative phenomena witnessed in the city that could endanger the safety and security of road users. "Shops and restaurants are granted a 30 day period since the issue of the law on July 8, 2013 to implement the new law. The main objective of the law is to ensure motorists waiting for their orders from restaurants are parking their cars at a proper parking area and that they should never park their cars randomly in a way that can cause road accidents or inconvenience to other road users."
