'Egypt in Our Heart' drive to focus on development


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)  Upon the directives of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has launched the "Egypt in Our Heart Campaign" to garner support for the Egyptian people through adopting initiatives that contribute to developing the infrastructure in all Egypt's provinces. Followed up by Shaikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the RCA, the RCA has commenced coordination with the Egyptian Red Crescent Society to speed up the implementation of the UAE President's initiative. The RCA said its Egyptian counterpart has shown full readiness to work together and offer facilitations to different competent Egyptian ministries, especially in the areas of health, education and other services. It added that it would not spare any effort to implement the initiative that includes the rehabilitation of hospitals, schools and other services. In Cairo, the RCA delegation, headed by Deputy Secretary-General for Development of Resources Fahd Abdul Rahman bin Sultan, held a series of meetings with the officials of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society. They discussed a number of issues regarding the strengthening of capacity of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society in the humanitarian and sustainable development areas. The UAE RCA also signed with its Egyptian counterpart a Memorandum of Understanding to specify the frameworks of cooperation and coordination between the two parties. Dr Mohammed Al Ateeq Al Falahi, Secretary-General of the RCA, said the directives of the UAE President would further contribute to the sustainable development in Egypt, noting they "reflect Shaikh Khalifa's interest to boost the health, education and vital service sectors in Egypt". He underlined that the UAE people's unwavering support to Egyptian brothers "is a duty dictated by the historical and strategic relations between the two sisterly countries and peoples", stressing that the Egyptian people have contributed through its workforce to strengthen the pillars of development and growth being experienced by the UAE. Al Falahi appealed for individuals, corporations and institutions to contribute to the campaign "Egypt in Our Hearts" to help achieve its desired objectives
