Google faces new challenge

The Internet search leader; Google, is facing a new challenge - navigating a technological transition driving more online activity on to smartphones and tablets, although the company sees that the prior and recent shift to smartphones and tablets only as a golden opportunity.

In fact Google`s average ad rate fell by 6 percent from the same time last year during the three months ending in June, which is actually the seventh consecutive quarter that Google`s average ad price or in other words cost per click plunged from the previous year.

Accordingly Google Inc. earned $3.2 billion or $9.54 per share, compared to a 16 percent from $2.8 billion or $8.42 per share, a year earlier and its revenue rose 19 percent to $14.1 billion, which is below market projections for the second quarter.

And it is also said that the company is not truly focusing on its main business; Internet search and advertising as it poured just recently a big amount of money on outside non-related projects such as the development of driverless cars and balloons.

Yet it is never too late as they say as Google is aware of this challenge and intends on flowing more efficiently with the new trend and overall global evolution of smartphones and tablets, not forgetting that the company is in a far better position to prosper from mobile computing because it makes Android
