Emirates Airline to extend its A380 service to Barcelona

(MENAFN) Emirates Airline plans to boost its A380 service to Barcelona from February1, 2014, as demand increased since the launch of the route service in July last year, Arabian Business reported. The daily service will increase capacity on the route by almost 44 percent, with 2,198 additional seats per week between the cities. Emirates will be the first permanent A380 service to operate into Barcelona El Prat Airport, replacing its existing Boeing 777-300ER on the Dubai-Barcelona route. The Dubai flag carrier said that the new upgraded capacity will also offer strengthened support for popular markets from Barcelona, with the Emirates A380 servicing 12 destinations in Australia and the Far and Middle East, enabling customers to enjoy a seamless A380 experience. Emirates currently uses the A380 for flights to 21 destinations, with four more to launch within the next six months including Brisbane, Los Angeles, Mauritius and Zurich.
