UAE- Dewa completes first phase of reservoir project


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) recently completed construction on the first phase of its Al Lusaily desalinated water reservoir project. The first phase of the Dh246 million project was completed on schedule, with the final phase to be completed in 14 months. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dewa, visited the construction site of the reservoir project in Al Lusaily, and inspected its progress, emphasizing the importance of completing it by the agreed contractual date. The project, with a capacity of 120 million imperial gallons of desalinated water, will enhance the total storage capacity in the Emirate of Dubai to 790 million gallons upon completion. "The project aims to strengthen water networks to raise the amount of water flow to meet the growing demand in different areas in Dubai," explained Al Tayer. "The first phase of the project is completed, and we will begin the construction of the foundation as planned, before testing and launching two reinforced concrete reservoirs with a capacity of 60 million gallons each," said Al Tayer.
