Mexico's Televisa reports USD141m


(MENAFN) Mexican media company Grupo Televisa reported a 31 percent increase in quarterly profits on lower financing costs, Reuters reported. The world's biggest producer of Spanish-language content said it made USD141 million net profit in the second quarter compared to USD106 million a year earlier. The company also reported a 6.4 percent increase in quarterly revenue to USD1.4 billion compared to a year ago. Televisa's incurred large costs on its acquisition of 50 percent of cellphone company Iusacell from Grupo Salinas last year. Nevertheless, financing costs in the recent quarter dropped by USD73.6 million to under USD91.7 million compared to last year.
