IMF's Lagarde hints at cutting growth estimates

(MENAFN) IMF chief Christine Lagarde has hinted for slightly lower global economic growth forecasts, AFP reported. The International Monetary Fund (IMF), along with the World Bank have said in April that the global economic recovery was advancing at mainly three different speeds, from an average 5.5 percent in emerging economies to 2 percent in advanced countries like the US and Australia, to the essentially deadlocked economies of the eurozone, she noted. The World Bank recently cut its growth expectations for China economy to 7.7 percent from 8.4 percent. It also expected the global economy to grow by 2.2 percent from its January forecast of 2.4 percent.
