Yahoo makes another small acquisition

(MENAFN) Yahoo has announced the acquisition of Bignoggins Productions as it seeks more bright ideas in mobile applications, AP reported. Yahoo plans to blend some of Bignoggins's technology into its own services for playing in fantasy sports leagues. Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer has been buying mostly startup-firms to bring in more creative technology and mobile engineering talent. The USD1.1 billion acquisition of blogging service Tumblr was by far the biggest deal during Mayer's tenure. Bignoggins founder Jerry Shen has founded the company in San Jose, California, three years ago and proceeded to develop a series of mobile apps that proved to be popular enough to convince players in fantasy sports leagues to pay for the service.
