Pakistan Confirms Safety of Nuclear Program


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Pakistan has confirmed that its nuclear program is safe and works under an effective regulatory system. This came in Pakistan's Ambassador to the United Nations Masood Khan's speech at an international conference on nuclear safety in New York last night. Radio Pakistan quoted the Pakistani UN ambassador as saying that his country gives utmost importance to the safety and security of its nuclear program. He also stressed that nuclear materials, facilities and installations in Pakistan are safe, pointing out that nuclear security is a national responsibility. Pakistan has been working closely for years with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to strengthen nuclear security.
