400 Emirates passengers survive an air disaster


(MENAFN) Approximate of 400 passengers on board of an Emirates Airline flight were subject to fatal disaster when the Boeing 777 aircraft, which was heading to Istanbul, came within 3.5 seconds of colliding with a military Hawk that took off from Dubai international airport, as a preliminary report revealed. The UAE Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) report stated that the military plane that flew from Dubai international airport and was aiming to perform high speed exercises came 100 ft close with the civil plane at a speed of 400 mph when air traffic controllers notified the pilot of the approaching Hawk, which was forced to reduce speed and make a sharp turn to escape a close disaster. The incident that occurred in February and kept unpublished till recently captured the attention of the giant airline to put in its consideration solutions that would help avoid such unexpected incidents A spokesperson for Emirates said the airline was "cooperating fully with the [investigation] and is awaiting the final report". The carrier said the incident was "being treated very seriously and with the highest priority.
