(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Sharjah has won the prestigious Most Outstanding Tourism Pavilion award for its distinct participation in the Beijing International Tourism Expo 2013 with the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, or SCTDA, hosting a number of meetings and interactions with leading figures of the Chinese and Asian tourism industry, investors and visiting media delegations.
SCTDA chairman Mohamed Ali Al Noman said that the award is in harmony with the growing Chinese interest in Sharjah in recent years, both in investments and tourist inflow.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, Al Noman received Lu Long of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development, and praised the fact that the Chinese interest in Sharjah's tourism sector and the economy is growing by the day, which is reflected in the significant growth of the number of Asian tourists and investments in the emirate.
