UAE and Swiss govts discuss boosting ties


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)  UAE Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri has held a meeting with Andrea Reichlin, the Swiss ambassador to the UAE, discussing ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various economic fields. During the meeting, Al Mansouri praised the strength of bilateral relations that exist between the two friendly countries, stressing that Switzerland is an important trading partner of the UAE, and adding that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries at the end of 2011 amounted to $9 billion. He emphasised the importance of the economy and the need to intensify the exchange of visits between officials from the two sides. He directed an open invitation to the private sector to play a pivotal role in the leadership of a new stage of development of relations between the two sides. Al Mansouri noted the importance of focusing future cooperation in the fields of industry, technology, innovation, food, agriculture and SMEs.€¨
