Qatar- QPI, Electricity of Djibouti sign MoU to develop power plant


(MENAFN- The Peninsula)  Qatar Petroleum International (QPI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Electricity of Djibouti to jointly evaluate to develop a potential 60 MWwind power plant in Djibouti. The MoU was signed Thursday in Doha by QPI Chief Executive Officer Mr. Nasser Al Jaidah and Electricity of Djibouti's General Manager Mr. Djama Ali Guelleh, in the presence of Djibouti's ambassador in Doha Mr. Moumin Hassen Barreh. "This MoU is a further milestone in the implementation of QPI's strategy to develop actively its presence abroad and especially in Africa," Al Jaidah said commenting on the occasion, according to a press release issued Saturday by QPI. He also welcomed the opportunity to reinforce relationships between Qatar and Djibouti. For his part, Guelleh expressed his satisfaction with this agreement between QPI and Electricity of Djibouti, which will "bring added value to the development" of Djibouti's power resources. He added that the new agreement is a "clear milestone that will open a new era of cooperation" between the two countries.
