UAE- Driver accused of sexually assaulting employer's son

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)  A 36-year-old driver sexually assaulted a nine-year-old schoolboy after luring him to ride in his car before taking him to a desert location, a court heard. The Afghan defendant, who worked for the boy's father in his restaurant, is believed to have pushed the boy, also an Afghan national, out of his car to scare him and then forced him to take his pants down and sexually assaulted him as the boy screamed. He then threatened to cut his head off if he told anybody about what he did to him. He has been charged in the Court of First Instance with sexual assault, threat to commit a crime, and assault on others' safety. He denied the sodomy and threat charges but admitted he physically assaulted the boy's father. The incident happened on March 15 in a desert area near the International City. The boy said that his mother sent him around 3pm on that day to his father's restaurant near their flat to bring a soup dish. There, he saw the accused who told him to ride in his car as he wanted to go to the Fruit and Vegetable Market. He took him later to a desert location where he forced him out of the car and sexually assaulted him after taking his pants down. When the defendant's phone rang and he answered it, the boy broke free from his hands and ran away, stumbling and hurting his toe. The defendant chased him and forced him into his car again. He threatened to cut his head off if he told anyone about what happened. The boy's mother, a 28-year-old housewife, said that her son returned around 5.30pm on that day even though the restaurant was only a few minutes away. "He entered my room and hugged me tightly. He looked scared and sad". The mother got suspicious when she saw his clothes dirty, with spices and blood all over them. The boy told her that he injured his foot and that it was just spices on his clothes. However, he told his insisting father the truth and that the defendant put the spices on his pants before letting him go home. An Afghan worker at the restaurant said that the defendant stayed silent when he kept asking him why he took the boy with him. "The following day, the boy's father arranged the defendant's passport and other documents". The worker learnt that the father was accusing the defendant of sexually abusing his son. "The accused looked scared and pale and his hands were shaking". The defendant punched the boy's father and they engaged in a physical fight when he told him that he would send him back to Afghanistan where they would settle the problem later. The police arrived shortly after and both and witnesses were taken for interrogation.
