(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Â A restaurant driver has been sentenced to three months in jail for kissing and groping a 13-year-old schoolgirl in the elevator of the building where she lived.
According to prosecution records, the 20-year-old Pakistani went to the building in the Discovery Gardens on March 19 to deliver an order at a flat.
He took the elevator at the same time as the girl, and taking advantage of her young age, molested her in the elevator.
He was found guilty of a molestation charge and the Court of First Instance also ordered him to be deported after serving his jail term. The girl, an Indian, said that the defendant kissed her twice on her cheeks and groped her many times while in the elevator.
A police officer said that the accused had run away by the time the incident was reported but the police apprehended him the following day.
The accused claimed that he went to the building to deliver an order that day and in the elevator saw the girl who asked him about his name and nationality.
He admitted he touched and fondled her.
However, the girl said in the investigation that it was the defendant who asked her about her name and nationality.
She also said that he kissed her cheek and touched her.
