(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Sharjah Police have arrested a hitman and another man in connection with murder, after it was alleged the victim's younger brother hired him to carry out the killing.
The Sharjah Police Criminal Investigation Department solved the mystery surrounding the murder of the 31-year-old Afghan, who lost his life after a member of his own family, his 29-year-old half-brother, conspired against him by hiring the killer, who planned to flee the country after committing the murder.
But the vigilance of the police and the speedy efforts of the CID officers saw the man, arrested before he had a chance to leave the country, and with his co-conspirator (the half-brother). The Operations Room of the Sharjah Police received a tip-off from an Afghan national about the murder. Officers rushed to the scene in the Sharjah Industrial area and found the body of the victim, covered in blood.
The CID team examined the crime scene at the warehouse used to store tyres and the victim's body was found lying amid a pile of old tyres. Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim suffered from blunt trauma to the right side of his skull, by use of a sharp object, which resulted in his death. He was identified as A.D.A.R and the police became aware that he had been staying with three of his brothers, along with another man identified as A.D.
The man's body was transferred to the Forensic Laboratory for autopsy to determine the cause of death. After further investigations, the police suspected the victim's half-brother, A.Q.R., who had a previous dispute with the victim.
After realising that his friend, identified only as 23-year-old G., was having financial problems, A.Q.R., approached him and offered him Dh5,000 to kill A.D.A.R.
They then set a plan, several times, to kill the victim but they failed in their attempts.
Days before the murder, they purchased a small axe from a shop, along with an axe sharpener and they hide it inside their car. G. then pounced on the victim while he was on his own at night, washing his clothes, He attacked and beat him on the head and face with the axe and after making sure he was dead, he ordered the half-brother to hide the weapon, so he threw the axe in the sea.
When the poilce police questioned A.Q.R., he collapsed and confessed that he instigated the murder, by paying his friend to kill him. He said he witnessed his brother get beaten to death. Based on the confessions, both men were referred to the Sharjah Public Prosecution.Â
