Kuwait- Asian gang accused of luring maids to prostitution held


(MENAFN- Arab News)  The Farwaniya police have arrested a gang of Asians who lured housemaids to run away from their sponsors after promising them what they called 'lucrative' jobs and then forced them into prostitution, reports Al-Shahed daily. A security source said the arrest came after police received complaints from sponsors on absconding housemaids. After some of the housemaids were arrested they claimed they were lured by some Asians to escape from their sponsors and forced into prostitution and gave details about of the pimps. All those arrested have been referred to the concerned authorities. Women cheated: Police have arrested an Iranian man who is believed to be in his 40s for swindling young Kuwaiti women, reports Al-Shahed daily. The Iranian reportedly deceived the women by luring them to join him in business venture and escaped with their money. The women swallowed the bait because the well-dressed suspect always drove in expensive cars. Following complaints filed by the victims, police set on the trail of the suspect and arrested him. During interrogation he denied the allegations but he was picked by the victims from a legal lineup. It has been reported the suspect reportedly duped his victims to the tune of KD 500,000. Strange behaviour: When an unidentified woman went to the embassy of an Asian country and started behaving hysterically, the embassy called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior and handed her over, reports Al-Rai daily. Without going into details the daily said the woman has been admitted to a Psychiatric Hospital.
