Two Syrian nationals arrested for plotting to kidnap Kuwaiti

(MENAFN- Arab Times)  Two Syrian nationals were arrested recently by Lebanese security authorities for plotting to kidnap 70-year old Kuwaiti citizen Sheikh Jaber Al-Yousef Salman Al-Sabah from his residence at Buhamdoun in Lebanon, reports Al-Qabas daily. According to informed sources, Sheikh Jaber Yousef Al-Sabah was spending his summer vacation in Lebanon and the two suspects had rented an apartment opposite his house to observe him. A Lebanese national living nearby became suspicious when the two suspects requested to rent his vehicle, and reported them to the security authorities. The Lebanese authorities arrested the suspects, who admitted during interrogations that they were planning to kidnap Sheikh Jaber Yousef Al-Sabah and take him to Syria in order to collect ransom from his family for his release. The Embassy of Kuwait in Lebanon extended their appreciation and gratitude to all security authorities in Lebanon for their tireless efforts in ensuring the safety of the Kuwaiti citizens in Lebanon.
