(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Â A man stabbed a compatriot businesswoman several times, pushed her down his apartment window and went down to stab her again to death, a court heard.
The 49-year-old Filipino businessman is believed to have owed the victim, who was in her fifties, a large sum of money and had had disputes with her for not repaying her. On August 26 last year, he lured her over to his first floor flat in a building in Karama where he stabbed her and then pushed her off the window. He then killed her by stabbing her again on her chest and neck while she lay down badly injured. He has been charged with premeditated murder in the Court of First Instance.
The Sharjah Police in cooperation with the Dubai Police found the woman's body, which was in an advanced state of decomposition, in the boot of her luxury car left in a sandy location in the Sharjah Industrial area.
The woman's 65-year-old husband, a Filipino manager, reported his wife missing on August 27 last year.
At around 7am on August 31, he was summoned by the Sharjah Police. He learnt that his wife's body was found in Sharjah.
He told the police that his wife had been asking the accused to return the large amount of money for the last years. He said that the defendant showed no reaction when he told him that his wife was missing. He led the police to the defendant's address. The victim's husband was surprised to learn later that the defendant's passport was found with him given the fact that his wife had seized it as a guarantee so that he would repay her loans.
The defendant was the last to make phone calls with the victim. He denied at first having killed her but admitted it a few hours later.
He claimed that the victim had ruined his life and that of his family because of her financial claims. His children had to be forced out of school. He tried to kill her two weeks earlier but could not lure her to meet him in private.
The victim went to his flat after he fooled her that a Korean man wanted to do business with her. They had a heated argument and he stabbed her in the abdomen and her hand as she tried to snatch the knife from him. He pushed her from the window and went down to slit her throat as she was still alive.
He put her body in the boot of her car which he dumped in Sharjah.
He then bought some Asian food and cigarettes with which he messed up the car to mislead the police. He also damaged the electrical parts inside the car.
The defendant was arrested outside his other flat in Al Rigga in Al Muraqqabat while he was with his wife
