Saudi- Man appoints disabled students without their consent

(MENAFN- Arab News)  Students with hearing disability from Al-Amal School in the Northern Border Province fell victim to fraud by an employee in especial education. The employee met them in the Auditory Sport Club in Hafr Al-Batin, asked for photocopies of their national identification and disability cards to get financial support from charities. Then he employed them in private companies without their knowledge. Their parents told local press they are worried about their children's employment because it might deprive them from comprehensive rehabilitation, social security and annual aid. Radi Al-Shammari, brother of one of the cheated young men, said he communicated with the man in question through text messages, since he has a hearing disability. The man is an employee in the Education Department in Aneeza. He is a supervisor, translator and an activist for people with hearing disability. He claimed the students voluntarily gave him photocopies of their documents. Al-Shammari called on the parents of students registered in the Auditory Sports Club in Hafr Al-Batin to make sure their sons were not employed without their knowledge. He demanded officials at the Ministry of Labor and other agencies to deal with manipulators and punish local companies that exploit citizens. By having disabled persons on their worker list, these companies trick the authorities into believing they have the stated percentage of disabled people among their employees.
