UAE- Man held for offering cheap phone calls


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)  The Sharjah Police have arrested a Bangladeshi national who was allegedly selling international phone calls at reduced rates. Director of the Criminal Investigation Department at Sharjah Police Colonel Jihad Saeed Sahoo said that the suspect was using banned programmes in practicing his illegal activity and turned his home, located at Industrial Area 2, into a hub to receive customers wanting to make cheap international phone calls. The suspect used a prohibited programme during the scam, despite being aware that what he was doing was illegal. As soon as the Sharjah Police were informed about the suspect's activities, they launched an investigation and put his house under surveillance, before arresting the suspect red-handed. Upon his arrest, the suspect confessed that he engaged in the illegal activity to make extra profit. He is currently being detained by the Sharjah Police and he will be referred to the Public Prosecution once investigations are complete.
